5 Reasons Spider-Man: No Way Home Will Be Awesome

I am so excited.

Tonight!!!! In about nine hours, I will be sitting in a theater and watching Spider-Man: No Way Home. I cannot wait. This movie is going to be nuts. But, in anticipation of the film and to close out the pre-No Way Home part of Spider-week, I wanted to share my top five reasons that I think No Way Home will be absolutely amazing. Without further ado, here they are.

BEFORE YOU READ: Remember to come back tomorrow for my SPOILER-FREE review of No Way Home!!!! Don't forget to check back over the weekend for various rankings and my SPOILER review of No Way Home on Monday!!!

5. The Returning Villains

One of the coolest things about No Way Home is the fact that all of these villains from both Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy as well as Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man duology are coming back. From Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin to Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus to Jamie Foxx's Electro, we are going to have a Sinister Six of all of these super cool villains that we've seen from previous franchises. It's going to be so cool. Green Goblin from the first Spider-Man is one of my favorite villains of all time. So I am balls off the walls excited to see him return just one more time. But I am also very excited to see what happens with the other four (possibly five) villains. Hopefully that sixth villain is Venom.

4. Mystery

While No Way Home has had teases and trailers and plot details have been released...I don't really know what this film is going to be. There's a lot of things that appear in the trailer but we don't know what they mean. Peter's holding a weird box and seems to have stolen it from Doctor Strange. There's a clear conflict between Peter and Doctor Strange. There's talk about how all of the villains died fighting Spider-Man. And there's obviously some big things happening with the multiverse. Even if there wasn't all of this fan service, I'd still be super excited to see it, because there's so much mystery surrounding it.

3. Continuation of the Multiverse

Since the end of Loki, I've been dying to see what the multiverse holds. However, since Loki, we haven't really gotten an exploration of the multiverse. What If...? did show alternate realities, but this is the first time that the multiverse is actually going to effect the main MCU. And there is no better way to do it than with Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, etc. The multiverse is a super intriguing concept that opens the door to infinite possibilities, and I've been waiting for the main MCU to explore it since the finale of Loki.

2. Conclusion to the Best MCU Trilogy

Right now, the Captain America trilogy is the best MCU trilogy. I don't think anyone debates that. But, if No Way Home is great (and the 95% on Rotten Tomatoes would imply that it is so), then the Spider-Man trilogy will be the best trilogy...by a mile. Homecoming and Far From Home are easily two top ten MCU movies in my opinion, and if No Way Home can measure up to that, that would be awesome. I loved the way Far From Home left off, and I really want to see how they pick that up and run with it. I'm very interested to see if this connects the bridge to the Sony Universe (Venom and Morbius and stuff), but I really want to see if they can finish off Spidey's trilogy on a high note.

1. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield

The reason that No Way Home beat Endgame for the pre-sale ticket record is because of the rumors of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. And, even though I was somewhat skeptical of it at first, I have boarded the hype train. If they show up in this movie, I will go absolutely bananas. That would be so awesome. And, if this allows for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 and Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 3, that would make No Way Home a historical landmark in cinema history. I mean, that would be a dream come true. If they aren't in it, that would be a little bit disappointing, but as long as the movie is great without them, I will be okay. If they are in it, it will be good. This is the thing I'm most excited for about this movie. If they are in it, I will be so proud of Sony/Marvel, because they showed restraint and didn't put them in the trailer. It would just be one of the coolest things ever. I can't wait.
