Netflix just dropped a huge announcement!
Cobra Kai is returning for the sixth and final season. This is just my quick thoughts on the news, because they haven't really said anything else.
Cobra Kai is the most popular show when it comes to my blog. My Cobra Kai content is the most viewed stuff here, so I am grateful to this show for giving me an opportunity to grow the blog to where it is today.
And, after having covered the last two seasons, my opinion on this show has really changed. I'm not a huge fan of the first three seasons, but seasons four and five have both been great. However, I do think it's a good thing that they're ending it before they jump the shark.
My one worry with this season is that I have no idea where it's going. Season five left Silver defeated and Kreese escaped from jail, but there wasn't any clear direction for the sixth season to take off. And backing off of that, it doesn't provide a clear direction for a final season either. Usually, final seasons are the biggest and highest-stakes. I don't know how that will look for Cobra Kai, because it felt like the big threat was taken down in season five.
Regardless, I'm very excited for this season. Like I said, I really feel like Cobra Kai has turned it around over the past two seasons, and I trust that the writers and producers will deliver with an epic, awesome, and satisfying final season. I'm expecting that we get it later this year, because Cobra Kai usually drops it's seasons pretty fast. Season five came out in September, so hopefully we get the final season in the fall.
